About British Airways

British Airways is a natural choice when flying south especially through the UK. Their business class is not the best out there, but this situation is supposed to change in 2019 when the airline receives their first A350s. We have reviewed plenty of British Airways business class flights, you can find couple of the recent ones below:

British Airways 787-9 business class from London to Los Angeles
British Airways 747-400 FIRST class from London to Las Vegas

Transportation From the Airport

Cape Town International Airport (CPT) is the main airport of Cape Town and one of the busiest in Africa. Located 20 km/13 miles from the city center, it features convenient transfer options to and from the downtown.

MyCiti A01 bus provides direct transfers to the Civic Center in the downtown area. From there, you can take onward connections. Fares depend on the distance and the time of your journey, usually ranging from 60 to 100 Rands. Depending on the day of the week, the first A01 bus leaves the airport between 5:30 am and 6:30 am. Last departures take place between 9 pm and 9:30 pm. The bus runs every 20 minutes from the main terminal and the duration of the journey is around half an hour.

Hiring a local airport taxi saves you the inconvenience related to changing connections and may prove more affordable if you travel in a group. Albeit prices tend to vary, taxi fares usually cost between 300 and 400 Rands. Some taxi companies charge per kilometer, while others charge flat rates. Taxis depart from the Arrivals section and journeys to the downtown last around 20 minutes in general.

And of course, there is our usual favorite – Blacklane (Use the voucher code M68JVJX3 to save 20% on your first ride booking). It operates in over 300 cities worldwide, has 60 minutes of free wait time at the airport and offers flexible cancellation options.

And last but not least, Uber which we also use regularly. Uber fares start from around 150 Rands for transfers from CPT to the Civic Center in the downtown.

Hotels

When it comes to accommodation, our choice is usually either IntercontinentalHilton or Marriott hotel. But remember to read also other travelers’ opinions and travel tips from Tripadvisor before making a hotel booking.
